Develop products tailored to market needs

R&D plays a key role in addressing a critical challenge for GROUPE ATLANTIC: developing the best products at the right time to meet customer expectations, market trends, and regulatory changes.

Working closely with the marketing teams, she helps define the requirements for new products and then oversees their development.

Thanks to its laboratories, technical centers, simulation capabilities correlated with measurements, and field testing, the Group strengthens its ability to develop, qualify, validate, and certify solutions that are more efficient, smarter, and more resource-conscious, in line with its High well-being / Low carbon commitment.

GROUPE ATLANTIC today relies on more than 20 laboratories in France and internationally. As true centers of expertise, they play a key role in the development, reliability, and performance of our solutions.
Their missions cover several essential stages:

– Product development: designing and bringing new solutions to market

– Testing and measurements: assessing the energy, acoustic, and technical performance of each product.

– Standardization: contributing to international working groups that define testing standards.

–Certification: qualifying and certifying products in line with current requirements.

Centre de Recherche pour le Confort Thermique (CRCT)

Thermal Comfort Research Center

It is a unique laboratory dedicated to thermal comfort, located in Orléans (France). It consists of two twin houses, each measuring 109 m², equipped with modular heating, hot water and air conditioning systems, as well as hundreds of sensors measuring CO₂, temperature, humidity, flow rates, particles, energy consumption and more.

Under real-life conditions of use, these “laboratory houses” make it possible to compare different products and services and gather tangible data.

This enables the research center to identify the combinations of appliances that deliver the greatest energy and CO₂ savings, and to guide future technology choices.

Since 2022, its test programmes have also been extended to products and services for small commercial buildings, particularly in air conditioning and air purification, to support the energy transition in buildings.

Heat Pump Technology Center (HPTC)

Billy-Berclau, 62, France

It aims to increase the share of renewable energies in our product lines from 30% to 50%, develop and validate future generations of heat pumps, and carry out real-world testing to ensure energy performance. Located on an 8,000 m² site with an investment of €29 million, it brings together around 140 employees, including acoustic and thermodynamic engineers, test technicians, designers, and project managers.

Air Technology Center (ATC)

Meyzieu, 69, France

Specializing in air-to-air heat pumps and air treatment solutions, its objectives are to deliver high-performance solutions that comply with future regulations, develop systems for heating, cooling, and air filtration, and strengthen the Group’s testing capabilities.

This 1,500 m² center, representing a €5 million investment, currently employs 10 people dedicated to testing and development, with a range of roles covering testing, technical expertise, monitoring, and certification.

Centre technique des solutions collectives

Commercial Technology Center (CTC)

Boz, 01, France

Dedicated to collective and commercial heating solutions, its mission is to develop collective heat pumps and boilers, as well as integrate associated products such as storage tanks and apartment thermal modules. This center actively contributes to the energy transition of the collective housing sector in Europe. Located on a 3,200 m² site with an investment of €15 million, it employs around 85 engineers and technicians.

Centre technique électronique et connectivité

Electronic and Connectivity Center (E2C)

La Roche-sur-Yon, 85, France

 Specializing in electronics and connected HVAC solutions, its goals are to develop embedded electronics for our heating and cooling products and to design connected systems that improve the user experience, notably through the development of product HMI: interfaces, screens, and controls that allow users to interact with the equipment. It also aims to anticipate new connectivity needs and cloud services. The center includes 1,500 m² of new space and 850 m² of renovated space, representing a €3.3 million investment, and had 120 employees in 2024, with a target of 160 by 2028.

UK Technology Center (UTC)

Hull, Royaume-Uni

A UK-based center dedicated to heat pumps for the British market. It addresses the UK market’s specific needs from innovation and development through to validation of heat pumps intended for this market, helping support the United Kingdom’s carbon neutrality targets by 2050. Covering 4,000 m² with a €15 million investment, it is designed to host up to 120 engineers and technicians.
