Since 1968, we have been inventing the comfort of tomorrow

Born out of an entrepreneurial venture in the Vendée region, GROUPE ATLANTIC has grown into an international, multi-brand group. Here’s a look back at the key milestones that have shaped our identity, driven the evolution of our businesses, and strengthened our commitment to the low-carbon transition.

1968

Founding of the company

Location: France – La Roche-sur-Yon site

Pierre Lamoure and Paul Radat, two engineer-entrepreneurs, began producing hot-water convectors. When the 1973 oil crisis occurred, alongside the expansion of France’s nuclear programme, the two founders demonstrated their agility and commitment to continuous innovation by moving into the manufacture of electric convectors, followed by electric water heaters marketed under the Atlantic brand.

1973

Acquisition of Guillot - commercial boilers

Location : France – Pont-de-Vaux site

Seeking to broaden their activities in the HVAC sector, the founders took a major step in the Group’s development and diversification with the integration of Guillot, a French specialist in gas and oil-fired boilers for collective buildings.

1986

Acquisition of Thermor and Sauter - electric heating and water heaters

Location : France – Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle and Saint-Louis sites

To support its controlled growth in France and gain new market share, GROUPE ATLANTIC integrated the heating and domestic hot water activities of the iconic Thermor and Sauter brands. This key milestone strengthened the Group’s presence and reputation among the general public.

1993

Acquisition of Elge - ventilation systems

Location : France – Meyzieu site

Convinced that thermal comfort encompasses a range of complementary needs, the Group expanded its offering to include air quality management. This first step into individual and collective ventilation marked the arrival of a new area of expertise, opening up new opportunities for the future.

2000

Acquisition of Ygnis - commercial boilers

Location : Switzerland – Ruswil site

With Ygnis, the company made its first targeted acquisition outside France. A specialist in medium- and high-capacity boilers for commercial and collective markets, this Swiss company marked the beginning of the Group’s international reach and presence.

2002

Acquisition of Franco-Belge - domestic boilers

Location : France – Merville site

A strategic operation that enabled the Group to integrate recognised industrial expertise and establish a presence in the highly promising domestic boilers market.

2003

High-capacity commercial boilers

Location : France - Cauroir site

Location : Egypt - Cairo site

Location : Ukraine - Odessa site

Acquisition of Hamworthy - Commercial boilers

Location : United Kingdom

Acteur majeur en France, l’entreprise, devenue officiellement GROUPE ATLANTIC, fait ses premiers pas au Royaume-Uni avec l’intégration d’Hamworthy, riche d’un solide héritage dans les chaudières collectives. Ce rapprochement confirme notre stratégie multi-énergies et multi-pays avec pour ambition d’asseoir notre leadership européen sur le secteur HVAC (Heating – Ventilation – Air Conditioning).

Acquisition of Erensan – Industrial boilers

Implantation : Turquie

With Erensan, an expert in steam boilers, the French industrial group expanded its offering into new technological and geographical horizons through solutions dedicated to industrial processes, manufactured in Turkey.

Acquisition of Lazzarini - Design bathroom radiators

Location : Italy

By integrating this leading Italian brand, the Group strengthened its international presence and enriched its design expertise in the field of bathroom radiators and bathroom solutions.

Acquisition of Austria Email – Domestic hot water and hot water storage tanks

Location : Austria – Knittelfeld site

With this long-standing specialist in domestic hot water technology, including storage tanks, buffer tanks and domestic hot water production systems, GROUPE ATLANTIC acquired new technical expertise and paved the way for expansion into Central European markets.

2014

2015

Acquisition of Gledhill – Water heaters and indirect storage tanks

Location : United Kingdom – Blackpool site

The Group expanded its presence in the United Kingdom with the integration of this long-established company, a specialist in stainless steel domestic hot water cylinders for residential homes.

Heat pumps and domestic boilers

Location : France - Billy Berclau site

2015

Acquisition of Ideal Boiler - domestic boilers

Location : United Kingdom – Hull site

A major acquisition that firmly established GROUPE ATLANTIC among Europe’s HVAC leaders. The Ideal Heating and Keston brands enriched a rapidly expanding multi-product, multi-energy brand portfolio.

2017

Acquisition of Thercon and Orcon - Air treatment

Location : Netherlands – Veenendaal site

As building thermal insulation becomes increasingly effective and the need for air renewal grows, the Group strengthened its continuous innovation in ventilation and air renewal through this double operation.

2018

Bathroom radiators

Location : Turkey - Izmir site 2

Acquisition of ACV – Stainless steel water heaters

Location : Belgium – Seneffe site

This technology integration enabled the Group to master stainless steel tank expertise and strengthened its position in the European domestic hot water storage market.

Commercial heat pumps

Location : France - Boz site

2021

Acquisition of Thermic Energy - Hot water storage tanks

Location : Germany

To support the low-carbon transition in buildings, GROUPE ATLANTIC expanded its offering in energy storage solutions, essential equipment for systems using renewable energies, particularly in German-speaking countries.

Acquisition of Clade - Commercial heat pumps

Location : United Kingdom

With Clade, a specialist in commercial CO₂ and propane heat pumps, the Group strengthened its position in the United Kingdom and confirmed its clear commitment to low-emission technologies.

2024

Acquisition of Eneko - Ventilation

Location : Turkey

By integrating Eneko, the Group continued its multi-product strategy and accelerated its international development, particularly in the residential and commercial ventilation markets.
