GROUPE ATLANTIC takes a new step in streamlining its logistics flows with the construction of a 72,000 m² logistics platform in Fontaine (Territoire de Belfort).
Launched in October 2023, this strategic project aims to centralize operations, strengthen industrial performance, and reduce environmental impact.
A growing need for rationalization
Prior to its commissioning, logistics activities were spread across the Fontaine and Saint-Louis (Haut-Rhin) plants and several external stockists. Faced with saturated storage capacities and a high dependency on service providers, the Group decided to rethink its organization.
Since January 2025, logistics flows from the Fontaine and Saint-Louis sites have been progressively transferred to this single platform, on which GROUPE ATLANTIC remains the main occupant, ultimately operating 48,000 m².
“Our products require significant storage capacity. With this new platform, we are centralizing all our flows in one strategic location,” explains Cyril Constant, Director of the Fontaine plant.
This centralization brings together:
• Finished products manufactured at the Saint-Louis and Fontaine sites
• Finished products from the Group’s international plants (Egypt, Ukraine, Thailand)
• Raw materials required for production
Two key ambitions
The project is built around two major objectives:
🔹 Optimizing flows by improving stock and shipping management to deliver better customer service.
“Beyond finished products, we will also store raw materials here. In practical terms, trucks deliver finished goods and return to our plants with raw materials,” says Cyril Constant.
🔹 Reducing environmental impact by minimizing empty truck journeys and favoring more sustainable modes of transport. The Group is notably testing HVO-powered shuttles—an alternative to diesel—between Saint-Louis and Fontaine.
A tangible local impact
The results:
• A significant reduction in internal flows
• Nearly 250 tonnes of CO₂ avoided each year (equivalent to 1.3 million kilometers driven by car)
• The creation of 40 new jobs, boosting the local economy
A modern, responsible infrastructure
Developed by developer Vailog with an investment of €60 million, the platform features cutting-edge facilities designed to combine performance and sustainability:
☀️ 60,000 m² of photovoltaic panels for green energy production
🌿 Eco-grazing areas to promote biodiversity
🏅 BREEAM Outstanding certification, the highest existing environmental standard
🔥 An innovative hybrid heating system based on Atlantic heat pumps and boilers
This flagship project strengthens GROUPE ATLANTIC’s competitiveness and fully embodies its CSR commitment by combining industrial performance, sustainable innovation, local engagement, and customer proximity.
