GROUPE ATLANTIC Boosts Its Logistics Performance

  • News

GROUPE ATLANTIC is taking another step forward in optimizing its operations with the construction of a 72,000-square-meter logistics hub in Fontaine (Territoire de Belfort). Launched in October 2023, this strategic project aims to centralize operations, enhance industrial performance, and reduce the environmental footprint.

A growing need for streamlining

Before it became operational, logistics activities were divided among the plants in Fontaine, Saint-Louis (Haut-Rhin), and several external distributors. Faced with storage capacity constraints and a heavy reliance on service providers, the Group decided to restructure its operations.

Since January 2025, operations at the Fontaine and Saint-Louis sites have been gradually transferred to this single platform, where GROUPE ATLANTIC remains the primary tenant, with 48,000 m² to be occupied once the project is complete.

“Our products require a large storage capacity. With this new platform, we are centralizing all our operations at a single strategic location,” explains Cyril Constant, director of the Fontaine plant.

This centralization allows us to consolidate:

Finished products manufactured at the Saint-Louis and Fontaine facilities
Finished products from the Group’s international plants ( Egypt, Ukraine, Thailand)
Raw materials required for production

Two Major Goals

The project is based on two main objectives:

  • Optimize workflows by improving inventory and shipping management to provide better customer service.
“In addition to finished products, we’ll be storing raw materials there. Specifically, trucks deliver finished products here and then head back to our factories with raw materials, explains Cyril Constant.
  • Reduce the environmental impact by limiting empty runs and prioritizing more sustainable modes of transportation. In particular, the Group is testing shuttles powered by HVO, an alternative to diesel, between Saint-Louis and Fontaine.

A Tangible Impact on the Region

Result:

  • A significant reduction in internal flows
  • Nearly 250 metric tons of CO₂ avoided each year (equivalent to 1.3 million kilometers traveled by car)
  • The creation of 40 jobs, thereby boosting the local economy

A modern and sustainable infrastructure

Developed by the real estate developer Vailog at a cost of 60 million euros, this facility features state-of-the-art infrastructure designed to combine performance and sustainability:

☀️ 60,000 m² of solar panels for green energy production
🌿 Eco-pastures to promote biodiversity
🏅 BREEAM certification at the “Outstanding” level, the highest environmental standard available

🔥 An innovative hybrid heating system based on heat pumps and Atlantic boilers

This flagship project strengthens the ATLANTIC GROUP’s competitiveness and fully embodies its commitment to corporate social responsibility, combining industrial performance, sustainable innovation, a strong regional presence, and close customer relationships.
